Information for car gear levers

Lever in the car is usually located to the left of the driver's seat in the United Kingdom. It will be at the level of the floor or the slightly enhanced console. There are several cars that will be of gears, issued from the dashboard and even fewer are the lever on the steering column, the main function of the control is to enable you to change from one facility to another.

The gearbox contains elements that control the connection between the engine and speed of movement.

First gear will provide greater force on the driving wheel and almost always is a mechanism that will choose to get the car in motion. As you accelerate, you will need to change in gear. Each one will give you more, but more road speed. Top gear provides you with the most force, but the widest range of speeds.

Most modern cars will have five speeds, but many newer cars or more heavy vehicles will have more. As well as General gears will also have the opposite one. When the car in neutral, will be used for gear.
The clutch connects the engine to the wheels through a gearbox path and allows the progressive connection of the engine and the wheels.

Four wheel drive vehicles can have a dual gearbox, one will be the standard ratios and the other will be a box for high and low ratio range. This will effectively double the number of gears, which are available for about 8 or 10. The path is usually a low range, which can be used.

Most cars have the same system of gears. The first four are usually of the form "H", while the fifth and reverse gear represents an additional "I". From the fifth to reverse is usually protected, and the lever automatically springs or back in their neutral position when no gear is not included. This trend of the gear stick to align with specific accessories is known as the "Bias". The third and fourth gears are usually lined.

Four speed transmission with gears in the "H", with reverse gear, extended on the left or right.

Although in the beginning changing gears may seem a little difficult in time comes second nature, you must always mind do not appear to be of the lever. When training, try to have a mental picture of the layout of the gear that will always allow you to change gear properly and without looking down.

For certain gears are too difficult to learn, and this is where comes the automatic gearbox convenient!
