Enkei RPF1 is one of the most requested and most popular wheels in the racing industry. In 1986, Enkei became actively involved in the road by providing 3-piece wheels team F1, Minardi. In 1995, Enkei became the official supplier for team Mclaren, which Championships home in 1998 and 1999. This team won four consecutive championships from 1996 to 1999. In racing, there are no compromises, and passion to boost never ends. Enkei participation of the highest of levels of competition allows engineers to apply their technology to the ultimate test.
Enkei RPF1 wheels, developed by the Grand Prix experience and light weight are characterised by extremely content combined for street and chain wheel of superior quality. Enkei is also developing a new manufacturing process to produce the next generation of aluminium wheels. The most advanced technologies (M.A.T) combines one-piece cast wheel technology with RIM, forming a technology called spinning process. Using this new technology of rim, forming by M.A.T process and casting, material property and strength of the wheel improves dramatically. RIM-rolled piece rim technology to improve essential extension without sacrificing rigidity of the wheels.
Directly to racing Street in M.A.T. technology is characterized by forged processes of lower price. Enkei also supplies enkei wheels for teams that race in the Japan GT CHAMPIONSHIP, Super Taikyu, formula drift, time attack/Super lap battle, World Rally, the SCCA and D1 drift. Enkei RPF1 wheel functions:
1. Mat process: the shaping of the MAT process reduced the weight of the wheel with 10%-15%. Each pound of unsprung weight savings have the effect of reducing overall vehicle weight of 20 pounds.
2. F1 Replica: Enkei is the official supplier of formula one team Mclaren Mercedes. RPF1 was developed for use on the same technology as formula one wheel race.
3. Twin spokes: Enkei double open position spoke design used Mclaren Mercedes formula one wheel race. Twin spokes achieve better stress dispersion curves, hard braking and extreme race driving.
4. Center design: Enkei Pocket design of bolt circle increases hardness and supports wheel cooler during the aggressive race driving.
Enkei creates its own test, called "Specifications-E," standard that is stricter than the requirements of JWL. The Enkei specifications-E test setup requires high drop test rig and 20% more cycles for Rotary bending fatigue, and dynamic radial fatigue tests by JWL standards. Specifications-E represents the Enkei confidence in their technology and quality of Enkei wheels.
